Reading Time: < 1 minute

As the fighting continues to show no signs of abating in Libya, the victims among the population continue to mount.

According to the Association of Foreign Medics in Italy – Associazione medici di origine straniera in Italia – (AMSI), in these last days of fighting the victims have increased to 400 among them 105 children and 120 women. The President of AMSI also said that there are over 2,000 wounded and 60 minors who disappeared, quoting reports from Libyan doctors.

Almost a month ago, Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar declared his intention to take over Tripoli and launched an offensive against the Libyan capital. Forces of the Tripoli backed government, known as the Government of National Accord, have mostly prevented the assault from entering the center city, but there is near-constant fighting in the suburbs.
