Il Primo Maggio, Italy’s term for today’s celebration, has brought another 269 deaths, which represents a slight decrease on the day before. 1,965 new cases were registered, however 2,304 have recovered, meaning that the active cases have gone down by 608.
The region of Lombardy registered 737 new cases as opposed to 598 yesterday, while 88 persons have died as opposed to 93 the day before. The number of positive cases in the region has gone up to 76,469, while 13,860 have perished.
Today, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte hinted at a possible acceleration of the re-opening of the economy if the infection curve slows down.
Meanwhile earlier today, the National Insurance for Injuries at the Place of Work determined that contracting the virus on the workplace will be considered as an injurty at the place of work.
