Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius was suffering from concussion when he made two terrible errors in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid after he was hit by an elbow from Sergio Ramos.

Following the final, Karius flew to the US to undergo tests and potential treatment, and today Bild are reporting the scans came back positive—a blow to the head by Sergio Ramos shortly before Madrid’s first goal left Karius concussed.

He had tests at hospitals in Boston five days later, with medics concluding he had suffered a concussion.

“It could be possible that such deficits would affect performance,” said Dr Ross Zafonte.
