Scenes of a Christmas carnival in the mostly Christian-populated Bab Touma neighborhood in the old city of Damascus, Syria, on the evening of Saturday14 December 2019, as part of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The carnival started from al-Zaytoun church to al-Abasyeen square.
The Christian population of Syria comprise 6% of the population, which is down from when they were 12% of Syrian the total population of 1.1 million in 1920. In Syria today there around 1.2 million among their population in Syria in 2010 before the civil war started.
