Umm Sameh, with Mazaher ensemble, performs a traditional ritual in Makan center for Culture in Cairo, Egypt, 08 September 2021. The ensemble is called ‘Mazaher’ and is made up mainly of women and they perform ‘Zar’, a healing ritual of drumming and dancing. Members of ‘Mazaher’ are some of the last remaining practitioners of ‘Zar’ in Egypt.
