Rescue operation after ship splits in half in Maltese territorial waters

An operation in under way in Maltese territorial waters after a ship split in two because of bad weather.

The Times of Malta reports that the ship Lady Sandra had been taking in water before it split because of bad weather with four to five metre swell.

In what was described as a very dangerous salvage operation, Newsbook.com.mt reports that Maltese Armed Forces managed to save the crew members onbaard – two Egyptians and a Romanian national.
