10 year old boy suffering from serious injuries following traffic accident in Mosta

Two persons have been hospitalised following a traffic accident at Mġarr Road, Mosta, today, July 16, 2019 at about 1255hrs.

Preliminary investigations by the District Police revealed that a collision took place between a Toyota Vitz driven by a 71-year-old woman from Mellieħa and Volkswagen Golf driven by a 71-year-old man also from Mellieħa.

Riding as passenger in the Toyota Vitz was also a 10-year-old boy.

A 38-year-old man from Greece, a 38-year-old woman from Canada, a 4-year-old girl from Canada and a 1-year-old boy from Canada were all passengers in the Volkswagen Golf.

An ambulance was called on site and took the 71-year-old woman and the 10-year-old boy to Mater Dei hospital for further treatment.Later, the 10-year-old boy was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, whilst the 71-year-old woman was certified as suffering from slight injuries.

The men went to Mosta Health Centre and were certified as suffering from slight injuries.

The 38-year-old woman and the children didn’t suffer any injuries.

Police investigations are still underway.
