13 killed as church roof in South Africa collapses

Thirteen people were confirmed dead and sixteen others were injured when a church roof collapsed in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal province.

The incident which occurred at the Pentecost Church located at the Dlangubo area of eMpangeni in the province.

The incident happened after the church roof collapsed on them during a Passover service, the state-run South African Broadcasting Corporation, SABC, said in its report.

Health officials say the building collapsed due to heavy rainfall in northern parts of the province.
