20 Chinese tourists discharged in Italy after testing negative for coronavirus

A group of 20 Chinese tourists was discharged after repeatedly testing negative for the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

The group had spent 14 days in quarantine after coming into contact with a couple who contracted the Covid-19 disease during a group holiday.

The couple currently remains in isolation in the hospital’s intensive care unit. Italy has so far reported only three cases of infection.

The disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 has been officially named Covid-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The outbreak, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has so far killed at least 1,369 people with over 60,000 infected worldwide, mostly in China.
