3.4 Earthquake on slopes of Etna registered

The earth on the slopes of Etna returns to tremble. An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 was recorded at 12.54 on the Sicilian volcano, in the province of Catania.

The news was disseminated by the INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology). Experts have stated that the epicenter is only one kilometer from Ragalna.

The hypocenter of the earthquake was located 4 kilometers deep: a shock, therefore, extremely superficial, which was clearly felt by the inhabitants of the capital, Catania, and in many other municipalities in the province.

Most of the reports came from coastal locations, including Giarre and Acireale. At the moment the authorities have not reported any damage to persons or property.
