An 4.4 magnitude earthquake was felt at 17.02 (local time) in the province of Cosenza, 2 kilometres from Rende in Italy and felt in other areas of Calabria.
This earthquake was reported by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv) on Twitter.
The shock was felt distinctly by the population but no particular damage has been reported at the moment.
