Reports of a significant number of persons were found living in dire conditions in stables located in Marsa, made it to the headlines this morning.
A major operation is currently underway at Marsa involving the Planning Authority together with immigration officials, ALE, IRU and Health Authority officials.
Times of Malta report the number being 100, other news sources said the number was in the region of 70.
Information about this operation was released by the Planning Authority’s CEO Johann Butigieg through a Facebook post earlier on Wednesday.
The stables are located in Triq il-Ġerrejja, and Triq l-Istalel in the location.
