Publisher cancels Woody Allen’s memoir release on daughter sexual abuse claims

Woody Allen’s publisher has cancelled the planned release of his memoir Apropos of Nothing after dozens of its staff staged a walkout.

It comes after days of criticism focusing on claims the film director sexually abused his daughter Dylan Farrow, Sky News reports.

Allen’s son and daughter, Ronan and Dylan Farrow, had condemned the deal. Mr Farrow, a journalist, wrote a book for HBG last year about how powerful men avoid punishment for misconduct.

Mr Farrow is Allen’s son with actress Mia Farrow. His adopted sister, Dylan Farrow, has accused Allen of sexually abusing her in 1992 when she was seven years old. He denies the claim, which was investigated at the time but led to no criminal charges.

The 84-year-old director of “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan” was cleared of the charges, first leveled by his then-partner Mia Farrow, after two separate months-long investigations, and has consistently denied the abuse.

But Dylan, now 34, maintains she was molested.
