WHO coronavirus map shows how pandemic has spread across the world

The World Health Organisation has declared the global coronavirus crisis a pandemic but also said it is not too late for countries to act.

This map by the WHO, which updates automatically, shows where the disease is now, how many cases there have been and how many people have died.

In view of the thirst for information on the current situation, hackers are using ‘weaponised’ coronavirus maps to attack victims and steal their credit card details. A tech firm called Reason Labs has found boobytrapped maps online which contain malware designed to pinch vital data including passwords, usernames and other sensitive information stored in a target’s web browser. The new malware activates a strain of malicious software called AZORult, which is designed to steal information including your cookies, passwords and browsing history.
