Covid-19 Malta Bulletin – 12th March 2020

Malta’s coronavirus tally has gone up to nine with two persons in their twenties added to the list. This was confirmed during a press conference this morning addressed by Health Superintendent Charmaine Gauci.

Patient Eight is a 29-year old foreign man returning from Belgium, who lives alone. Patient Nine is a 26-year old, also of foreign nationality, returning from Berlin, who also travelled to Amsterdam via bus.

In Amsterdam, on the 6th March the woman had already experienced symptoms associated with the virus. She came back on the 10th March. It is understood that the latter patient, who works with a private company, lives in a shared apartment and reported to work for two hours on her return. Health authorities are carrying out the necessary contract tracing on both cases.
