A dynamic team with a clear vision for Malta’s many challenges – Adrian Delia announces new PN shadow cabinet

In Malta, the Leader of the Nationalist Party Adrian Delia reshuffled the shadow cabinet. Announcing the reshuffle, Dr Delia said the he assigned new responsibilities to Pn’s parliamentary group, which he defined as “a dynamic, hard working team with a clear vision for the country’s many challenges”.

Deputy leader David Agius, will be shadow minister for the family, social solidarity, pensions and children’s rights. The portfolio was previously covered by MP Claudio Grech. He was assigned the Economy portfolio. Deputy leader for party affairs Robert Arrigo was assigned the responsibility of the portfolio “challenges of tourism in a new world.”

New MP Ivan J Bartolow will shadow the digital society. David Thake was given the responsibility  of the environment.

Good governance and justice – which were part of his portfolio after being taken from Simon Busuttil two years ago – where given to Karol Aquilina and Jason Azzopardi respectively.

Robert Arrigo (deputy leader for party affairs): Challenges of tourism in a new world

Robert Cutajar (Whip): Youth, sport, voluntary organisations, fight against obesity

Frederick Azzopardi: Deputy Whip

Karol Aquilina: Good governance, strengthening democracy, citizenship, public sector reform

Jason Azzopardi: Justice

Ivan Bartolo: Social housing, poverty, isolation and social exclusion

Ivan J Bartolo: Digital society

Toni Bezzina: Transport and mobility, infrastructure, capital projects

Claudette Buttigieg (deputy speaker): Equality

Ryan Callus: Energy, water conservation and management

Therese Commodini Cachia – National heritage, art, culture and media

Kevin Cutajar: Lands, construction and planning

Mario de Marco: Finance

Kristy Debono: Economic investment, small businesses, financial services, EU funds

Maria Deguara: Active ageing, disability

Beppe Fenech Adami: Home affairs, national security and crime

Mario Galea: Mental health, care in the community, dementia, diabetes, animal rights

Claudio Grech: The economy

Karl Gouder: Local government and communities

Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici: Foreign and European affairs

Clyde Puli: Education, employment and social dialogue

Chris Said: Gozo, Constitutional reform
