In-Nazzjon leads with a story about a tragic road accident which claimed the life of a 21-year-old on Thursday in Luqa. Riding his motorcycle, Nolan Farrugia, ended up trapped under a bulky refuse truck that was travelling in the same direction. The young motorcyclist was certified dead on the spot.

The Times says that acquaintances of described Nolan Farrugia as a happy and cheerful person. The young man was studying maritime engineering and was an active member of the SIġġiewi parish.

The Malta Independent quotes Health Minister Chris Fearne who said that the number of organ donors in Malta now reached 25,000. The Minister said that a new scheme implemented this year exceeded the target of attracting 10,000 new dnors.

Another story in The Times says a 30-year-old man stands accused of raping his former wife on Christmas eve, at their apartment in Sliema. The Libyan, who pleased not guilty, was denied bail and remanded in custody at the Mount Carmel Hospital Forensic Ward.

The Malta Independent says that NGO vessel Sea-Watch is being refused entry to port by Malta and another four EU countries. The ship, which has 22 crew members onboard and 32 rescued people, has been stranded at sea since Saturday.

L-Orizzont speaks to senior police officials who expressed their satisfaction at the level of cooperation with the Customs Department. Joint operations at the Malta Freeport have recently uncovered a huge haul of 90 kilogrammes of cocaine, with a value of €9.7 million.
