On this day in 1946, Juan Peron was elected as Argentinian President

On this day in in 1946, General Juan Perón first elected President of Argentina.

Peron Served as President of Argentina from 1946 to 1955, and again from 1973 to 1974. The leader of a populist movement known as Peronism, he and his wife Eva Peron were hugely popular among large swathes of the Argentine population, and attacked as demagogues by others.
