Dubai-bound plane forced emergency landing amid reports of attempted hijack

A Dubai-bound plane has made an emergency landing at an airport in Bangladesh amid reports an armed passenger attempted to hijack the flight.

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong after the suspect allegedly attempted to storm the cockpit.

The flight, headed from Dhaka to Dubai via Chittagong, landed at 5.40pm local time.

All passengers have disembarked the Boeing 737 but the alleged gunman and two crew members remain on board, according to local reports.
