Tripoli seeks to end European airspace ban on Libyan airlines

The Libyan Observer reported that Alan Bugeja, the EU Ambassador to Libya , held talks in Tripoli with Milad Matouq,  Libyan Minister of Transport.

The talks were centered on the need to accelerate the procedures regarding the possibility of lifting the European embargo imposed on the Libyan airlines.

The meeting also discussed the European Union support for the Libyan Air Navigation Administration to benefit from the European satellite navigation system services.

The European Union extended late last year the ban of Libyan aircraft in the airspace of the European Union.

Ambassador Bugeja, a Maltese national, took up his new position on 1 September 2018.
