The Times reports that investigators in Spain will take their probe into the international tuna smuggling racket further. They say that ‘widespread abuse’ likely took place and are expected to investigate other companies and entities in Malta.

The Malta Independent says residents in Cospicua raised concerns over plans by the American University of Malta to develop the Dock 1 area. Residents say the development will encroach on public space altering the character of the three cities.

The Times quotes a report by Reuters International which says that, while one in five countries made necessary legal changes following the Panama Papers leak, no measures were taken in Malta.

The Malta Independent publishes an interview with Bicycle Advocacy Group president Michelle Gauci Tonna who complained that the National Cycling Strategy was ‘very clearly’ not drafted by people familiar with cycling.

L-Orizzont speaks to Caritas director Anthony Gatt about worries that lethal drug could make its way to Fentanyl. Gatt said that while the synthetic drug is extremely potent, caution should be exercised not to over-sensationalise the subject.
