Sudan’s ex-president Omar al-Bashir was charged with corruption-related offences on Sunday, as he appeared in public for the first time since he was overthrown in April.
Wearing traditional white robes and turban, he was driven to the prosecutor’s office in Khartoum, where he was read the corruption charges against him.
Surrounded by security guards, the 75-year-old former leader was wearing traditional white robes and a turban.
Bashir is also wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), accused of organising war crimes and crimes against humanity in Sudan’s Darfur region – charges he denies.
