Woman forgotten in parked Air Canada plane

Canadian authorities are investigating how a woman was forgotten asleep on an Air Canada aircraft.

Tiffani Adams said she was left alone on an Air Canada plane after falling asleep during a flight.

Adams said she fell asleep while flying from Quebec to Toronto on 9 June. When she woke up, she was freezing cold and still buckled into her seat, but the aircraft was parked.

Air Canada has confirmed the incident occurred and is investigating.

Adams managed to call a friend to let her know where she was when her phone died less than a minute into the call.

After no one saw the “sos signals” she made by shining a flashlight out the window, she unbolted a cabin door. Facing a steep drop to the tarmac, she leaned out of the aircraft and called over a ground crew employee, who got her out.

The passenger wrote that Air Canada personnel asked if she was OK and whether she would like a limo and hotel, but she declined the offer. She said airline representatives apologized and said they would investigate.
