‘Alf’ actor Max Wright has died aged 75

The star best known for his role as Willie Tanner on ‘Alf’ died at his home in California after a battle with cancer, TMZ reports.

He was first diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 but had reportedly been in remission “for a long time”.

Born in 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, Wright, whose real name is George, is most known for his role as Willie Tanner — the father who took in the “smart-mouthed” creature ALF (Alien Life Form) after his spaceship crash-landed in a suburban garage.

He even starred in some early episodes of ‘Friends’, playing the original manager of the gang’s favourite cafe, Central Perk.
