Air Traffic control issues lead to suspension of flights in Gatwick airport

epa07242326 Planes are grounded on Gatwick airport in Sussex, southeast, England, 20 December 2018. According to media reports, the runway for Britain's second busiest airport Gatwick was shut down by authorities after sightings of drones flying near the area. Gatwick airport has suspended all flights “due to an air traffic control systems issue”.

The airport said that it is working with ANS, “our air traffic control provider, to rectify this issue as quickly as possible”

The airport apologised and advised passengers to check with their airline or on the live flights page for the latest flight information.
