Various parts of Europe hit by severe storms

After an intense heatwave, various parts of Europe were hit by severe storms.

In Poland, rough weather conditions effected large parts of the country as Poland’s Met Office (IMGW) issued weather alerts for a total of 10 provinces on Sunday. Weather that was characterized by hail and rainstorms may be accompanied by winds blowing up to 110 km/h.

A storm caused the Rawa River to burst its banks. The situation is particularly difficult in Katowice.

Moreover, the Met Office issued a second-degree alert against African heatwaves that are approaching Poland. The thermometers will show 34 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Meanwhile in Belgium bad weather brought lightning strikes and flooding across the country.

Torrential rain and thundery showers were Belgium’s lot last night. The Met Office had issued a Code Orange weather warning, but it seems Belgium passed through the bad weather with little damage.
