The Malta Independent leads with Eurostat figures showing that 30 percent of people in Malta could not afford a week-long holiday away from home in 2018. The rate is higher than the EU average of 28 percent.

The Malta Independent speaks to activist Ryan Vella from Għaqda Siġar Maltin who argues that trees must be planted in urban centres, not just in green areas. Vella insisted that any transplantation should be done in winter when trees are dormant.
