The public will be able to welcome President-elect Myriam Spiteri Debono as she proceeds from St John’s Co-Cathedral to the palace for her swearing-in ceremony on Thursday. Spiteri Debono was unanimously selected as Malta’s 11th president by parliament on Wednesday. Her inauguration will take place during a special session of parliament in the Throne Room of the Presidential Palace in Valletta. Departing from her residence in Birkirkara at 9:15 am, she will attend Mass celebrated by Archbishop Charles Scicluna at the co-cathedral. Following Mass at approximately 11 am, she will walk to the palace accompanied by her husband, Anthony. PM asks national airline to reverse language decision
