Italy approves Berlusconi postage stamp

The government approved the issuing of a pstage stamp commemorating late three-time ex premier and media mogul Silvio Berlusconi who died last June aged 86 having dominated Italian public life in a controversial career for decades.

“The postage stamp dedicated to Premier Silvio Berlusconi, which will be issued one year after his death, is the right recognition of a great Italian who served and honoured the Republic in all the roles he held: businessman, sportsman, political leader and statesman,” said the vice president of the Senate and Forza Italia (FI) senator, Licia Ronzulli, and Forza Italia deputy, Paolo Emilio Russo.

“We thank Premier Meloni and the entire cabinet for accepting the proposal of the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and the delegate undersecretary Fausta Bergamotto2, said the two members of FI, the party Berlusconi created in 1994 to launch his political career.
