Malta’s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who was one of the first to announce the agreement in the early hours of Friday expressed his views to Corporate Dispatch that the conclusions of the European Council is just a case of ‘only some progress’.
However, he added that significantly for Malta, all European Member States agree that the vessels operating in the Mediterranean must respect the applicable laws and cannot obstruct Libyan Coastguard from their job.
