Cristiano Ronaldo hints at move away from Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at a possible departure from Al Nassr, posting a cryptic message just hours after the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League season.

“This chapter is over,” Ronaldo wrote late Monday on social media, alongside a photo of himself wearing the Al Nassr kit.

“The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” he added.

The 40-year-old Portuguese star joined Al Nassr in 2022 after leaving Manchester United. His current contract with the Saudi club expires this summer.

A special transfer window, running from 1 to 10 June, has been established for the 32 teams participating in the FIFA Club World Cup to make signings. Al Nassr, however, did not qualify for the tournament, unlike domestic rivals Al Hilal.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently confirmed that “there are discussions” regarding Ronaldo’s potential involvement in the expanded Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States on 14 June.

Al Nassr’s season ended in disappointment after they were knocked out in the Asian Champions League semi-finals by Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale and finished third in the domestic league.
