Malta Public Transport Announces Additional Services for Malta vs Luxembourg Play-Off

Malta Public Transport will be operating a series of extra trips and direct bus services towa-rds and back from Ta’ Qali on Thursday 26th March 2026 for the highly anticipated Nations League promotion play-off match between the Maltese national team and Luxembourg at the National Stadium.

In support of the national team and to encourage fans to travel safely and conveniently, three direct routes will operate from Valletta, Żurrieq and Paola to Ta’ Qali. In addition, extra trips will be scheduled on key existing routes from Valletta, Bugibba, Sliema and University.

The following additional services will operate on the day:

  • Extra Route 403 from University at 16:25 and 16:55.
  • Extra Route 56 from Valletta at 16:00 and 16:40.
  • Extra Route 186 from Bugibba at 15:50, 16:20 and 16:50.
  • Extra Route 202 from Sliema at 15:15, 15:45 and 16:15.

Direct services to Ta’ Qali will run as follows:

  • Valletta to Ta’ Qali at 16:10, 16:30 and 16:50.
  • Żurrieq to Ta’ Qali at 15:50, 16:10, 16:30 and 16:50.
  • Paola to Ta’ Qali at 15:55, 16:10, 16:25, 16:40 and 16:55.

Travel on all regular and additional services will be free of charge for Tallinja Card holders. Passengers without a Tallinja Card may purchase tickets at the price of €2 directly on board.

At the end of the match, buses will be stationed near the Stadium, with buses departing back to Valletta, Sliema, St Paul’s Bay, Żurrieq and Paola according to demand. Malta Public Transport  inspectors will be present to guide passengers to the appropriate service and ensure an orderly boarding process.
