Meghan pays tribute to murdered South African student

The Duchess of Sussex leaves a yellow ribbon with a message on it honouring Uyinene Mrwetyana, a 19-year-old South African student who was beaten to death last month.

The Duchess of Sussex has visited the site where a teenager was raped and murdered in South Africa, in a case that sparked outrage across the country.

Meghan paid tribute to Mrwetyana at the post office where she was beaten to death last month.

Her visit was kept secret and the news was only issued via the royal couple’s Instagram account once it happened.

The royal left a yellow ribbon on which she had written a message in the local language Xhosa that said: “We stand together in this situation. Harry and Meghan September 26, 2019.”
