Several people ‘stabbed’ at shopping centre in Manchester

Counter-terror police are investigating after five people were stabbed at a shopping centre in central Manchester.

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of serious assault, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have said.

The incident happened at the Arndale shopping centre, which is in the city centre.

The shopping centre has been evacuated and trams have stopped operating at Exchange Square outside the entrance.
