Two mysterious deaths have occurred connected to the Hermes Shipping Center in Haldensleben since 13 October 2019.
The parcel firm Hermes has halted work at a depot after the deaths.
One of the men died at the depot, the other in a despatch van.
Police tested a poisonous substance found in a parcel but said the amount was not sufficient to cause death.
Another person was seriously injured on 15 October 2019. After the incidents became known, the police ordered a large-scale deployment of fire services.
The investigators assume a chain of unfortunate coincidences at the moment.
