Nutella sold 57 million biscuits in three weeks

Ferrero has sold two million and 600 thousand packages of its Nutella biscuits in three weeks. Calculating that each package contains 22, we reach the 57 million cookies in circulation.

According to the data, provided by the IRI analysis company to Italian newspapers La Repubblica, sales were seen accelerating: 27 thousand packs in the first week, over a million in the second and more than a million and a half in the third.

Turnover produced by biscuits would therefore be 8 million euros. The objectives of the group were ambitious: the aim was to collect 80 million in a year. Target achievable even in the event of a slowdown. In fact, if it maintained its current pace, turnover would exceed 130 million.

The speed of rotation, that is the time that passes between the arrival at the point of sale and the purchase by customers is more than double compared to similar products of the same brand. Reports indicate that essentially, supermarkets can’t top up shelves fast enough. This explains the “mystery” of their disappearance. And that’s why there are those on Amazon who sell the package for almost 12 euros, four times the price recommended by Ferrero.
