Two earthquakes registered close to Greece

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake has struck close to tourist hotspots Kos and Rhodes in Greece, the United States Geological Survey reported.

According to the Independent this earthquake came just hours after a quake shook buildings in western Turkey, sending people running into the streets for safety.

The Sun reports that there were no immediate reports of any injury or major damage.

The quake hit depths of around six miles, whilst a 5.6 magnitude tremor was felt in the west of Turkey, sending people running for safety according to reports.

A second earthquake was felt 44 miles east of the Greek island of Karpathos, the second-largest of the Dodecanese islands, and south of Rhodes, in the Aegean Sea.
