Air Malta plans to introduce two Airbus A321XLRs to its fleet in 2024 enabling the airline to launch its first long-haul services.
Air Transport World (ATW) quoted Air Malta’s chairman as saying during the CAPA World Aviation Outlook Summit that was held last week in Malta, that the Maltese carrier plans to introduce two Airbus A321XLR in its fleet in 2024 to start long-haul flights to US and India destinations.
ATW said that the A321XLRs will be sourced from Malta Medair.
Now, Malta Medair has one A320. “An India connection is important if the local economy will continue to grow”, stated Charles Mangion. Currently, Air Malta has 7 Airbus A320 and three A320neo. In the future, Air Malta wants to introduce 2 more A320neo to its fleet, while phasing out A320ceos
