Airline Transavia to introduce cabin luggage fees

Dutch holiday airline Transavia will introduce fees for some cabin luggage services from the end of March, the Dutch newspaper Telegraaf reported on Wednesday.

The paper says passengers who want to be sure their luggage remains in the cabin will have to pay a fee of between €10 and €30 for a return flight.

‘If passengers want to take larger pieces of luggage into the cabin, there is a large chance that they may end up in the hold because there is limited space,’ a spokeswoman was quoted as saying.

Passengers who pay for cabin luggage will also have priority when it comes to boarding, so they can place their bags close to their seats.
