Another major operation against organized crime in Italy

 

Italian police on Thursday arrested 14 people in an international operation against the Calabria-based ‘Ndrangheta mafia.

The operation was aimed at the Muià ‘ndrina group, affiliated with the powerful clan Commisso from Siderno, police said.

The arrested people are accused among other things of transnational armed mafia association, illegal weapons possession, fraudulent transfer of assets, illegal exercise of credit, loan sharking and aiding and abetting, with the aggravating factor of using mafia methods.

On Wednesday, Italian police in collaboration with the American FBI made a huge operation against Cosa Nostra based in Sicily.
