Anti-Haftar forces enter Tripoli airport

The Libya Express reports that Libyan Army forces operating under the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) entered Tripoli International Airport and advanced on positions held by rival forces under the command of Khalifa Haftar.

The Libya Express quoted the spokesman for the Tripoli allied forces saying that Saturday their forces had advanced on Tripoli Airport from three fighting axes.

The spokesman added that the majority of the airport was controlled by the Libyan Army forces under GNA’s command but not the full control and defeat of Haftar’s forces.

Tripoli has been under attack by Haftar’s forces since April 04, when he launched an offensive to take power and marginalize the UN-backed Government of National Accord as well as its legitimate institutions.
