Team Artie is working around the clock to get its new yacht ready for the Rolex Middle Sea Race next month. The HH42 model is only one of five in the world right now designed by the internationally renowned Judel-Vrolijk and built by Hudson Yacht and Marine.
A fully prepreg carbon fibre structure weighing just over 4.2 tonnes, the sleek boat was stripped down for maximum acceleration and speed. The team has been busy sanding, spraying, and re-assembling the parts in time for the start of the prestigious race.
The boat is owned by Lee Satariano and skippered by Christian Ripard who bring many years of sailing experience between them.
The duo has participated in numerous races together achieving distinguished results at local and international events, including First in Class and First Overall in the 2011 and 2014 editions of the Rolex Middle Sea Race.
The seasoned team is complemented by an enthusiastic generation of young talent that have been training hard for the upcoming racing season.
