Athletics: 4x100m relay team sets new NR in Italy

Malta’s men’s 4x100m relay team set a new national record at the prestigious Lignano Sabbiadoro meet in Italy.

The team, composed of Omar El Aida Chaffey, Luke Bezzina, Graham Pellegrini, and Beppe Grillo, finished their race in 40.51 seconds, six-tenths faster than the previous record set in May at the Balkan Championships.

Grillo also won the 100m race at the Brugnera meet on Saturday with a time of 10.52s.

In the same event, Thea Parnis took third spot in the 100m women race in 12.06s.
