The Sunday Times reports that the declared bank balance of the local business owned by chief of staff Keith Schembri increased from €50,000 to €850,000 in five years. The paper says that the offshore holding company, meanwhile, started declaring losses.

The Times on Sunday says that concerns have risen among a congregation of 7,000 about the future of the Xemxija church. Capuchin provincial Fr Effie Mallia denied reports that the church will close down but admitted that services will be reduced.
