Berlusconi announces he’ll be contesting the next European Parliament elections

“This government and above all the Movimento Cinque Stelle (M5s)  are enemies of freedom,” said Forza Italia president Silvio Berlusconi, in his speech at a rally organized by Antonio Tajani at Fiuggi. We need to save the country once again, so to do so, I am going to contest the European Parliament elections.”

“We have to go back to being the first political force in Italy”, Berlusconi says and for this he announces his participation at the next elections.

“We saved Italy from the Communists, 25 years later, Italy is facing an even worse danger, ignorance, incompetence, continued aspiration to social hatred, we will still be the ones who will save the country. I will still be in the field at the next election to save the country I love “.

Then leaving Fiuggi, Berlusconi “I think I’m going to run for Europeans, everybody is asking for it, and then, if we have to save Italy, we have to do things seriously”.

“We read announcements that – he adds – attack the freedom of citizens”. ‘They announced measures on advertising ceilings that would close Mediaset the day after,” said the president of Forza Italy.

They treat the Ministry of Economy as an ATM from which to take the money they need to finance their electoral promises.

Berlusconi also has messages against the leader of the Lega Salvini.

“The center-right summit confirmed that the coalition is definitive for all three parties, however Salvini has unpleasant and unacceptable outbursts.”

He argues that perhaps he does so with the excuse of not breaking up an argument with the M5’s allies,  however “we want that quarrel to break out “.

The government has stressed Berlusconi, worries many European leaders: ‘Already with their announcement hey caused very serious damage, consumption fell, the stock market fell, foreign financial institutions withdrew over 100 billion in investment.”

“If through the budget we raise the deficit and Europe should reject it, the spread would rise and it would be a disaster. And unfortunately from what I hear, the ECB considers this risk very high.”

But Berlusconi also launches a signal of peace to Salvini by saying that Forza Italia is ready to vote all those proposals put forward by the League that are part of our center-right program.
