A big search in underway in the Italian city of Florence for five-year-old Cataleya Alvarez, known as Cata, of Peruvian origins.
The girl went missing in the Novoli district of Florence at about 13:00 on Saturday.
The police have been searching the building in via Boccherini and the areas along the banks of the Mugnone river and the Cascine park .
The mother said the child, who is of Peruvian origin, was nowhere to be seen when she came home from work.
A neighbour reported that the missing girl was playing with her daughter, but they had a row and her child returned home.
The search is concentrated on the area of an illegally occupied building where the missing child’s family live.
