Bono’s voice back as U2 hold concert in Cologne

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The tour continued on Tuesday with the first of two concerts in Cologne, and thankfully, for all U2’s fans Bono’s voice was in fine form.

He made just two references to it during the night; the first as MacPhisto, gleefully saying “I see my old friend Boh-no lost his voice in Berlin. Bravo! Bravo! I think he is his very best vocalist with the sound turned down.” The second came in his talk to Ali before You’re the Best Thing About Me: “Hey darling, I really miss you; especially with what happened earlier in Berlin. The show is going really well tonight, voice is strong…”

During the performance, which happened at the Lanxess Arena,

The most popular songs of the Irish band were played. During the performance of Get out of your own way there was an electronic display of countries, which amongst others also featured Malta, to delight to the Maltese who were there.

The reference was part of an invite to all European states to unite to come together in the wake of racism.
