Bosnian man arrested in Germany over Paris 2015 terrorist attacks

German security forces have arrested a Bosnian man wanted in connection with the 2015 Paris attacks and are preparing his extradition to Belgium.

The man has only been identified as a 39-year-old from Bosnia and against whom there is a European arrest warrant issued by the Belgian authorities on the suspicion of abetting a terrorist organisation linked to the terror attacks, including on the Bataclan concert hall, on November 13, 2015 in Paris.

The man was arrested by the German Criminalpol in Bad Duerrenberg.

The prime surviving suspect in the 2015 Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam, was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year in Belgium over a shootout with police in Brussels.

Abdeslam is in a French prison awaiting trial for his role in the attacks in Paris in November 2015. His trial may not start until late 2020.
