British Airways flight lands in Scotland instead of Germany

A British Airways (BA) flight destined for Düsseldorf in Germany landed in Edinburgh in Scotland by mistake.

The plane, that departed from London’s City Airport, after landing in Edinburgh was then redirected to Düsseldorf. WDL Aviation ran the BA flight through a leasing deal.

It seems the error happened because of a mix up in the flight paperwork.

BA, whilst apologising for the error,  said it was working with WDL to find out why it filed the wrong flight plan. But BA insisted that the pilot wasn’t lost at any point, because the paperwork said Edinburgh, the flight simply took that route.
