No foul play is suspected in the death of British scientist Nathalie Christopher in Greece.
She died instantly after falling from a height on the Greek island of Ikaria, a coroner has said. Coroner Nikos Karakoukis, who travelled to the island from Athens, said the evidence from an initial assessment of the area where her body was found, was “consistent with a fall from a height”.
He told reporters she suffered a head injury and died instantly and that her body is to be taken to a morgue in the Greek capital.
Christopher, 35, was found dead in a 20m deep ravine on Wednesday.

Rescuers told Greece’s state ERT TV that she appeared to have slipped and suffered fatal injuries while rock climbing.
There were initial suspicions over the disappearance and death as Christopher was the second female scientist who has gone missing after going for a run on a Greek Island this summer.
In July, US scientist Suzanne Eaton went missing in Crete.
Her body was found in a Second World War military bunker used during the Nazi occupation of Crete and a coroner revealed she had been raped and killed.
